Florida Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest -  The theme of the essay contest has not been issued yet.  Keep checking this site for details and deadline.  No more than 500 words in length, the essay must include certain information.  See link for all details.  

 

NFAA Arts Awards ARTS 2009 is open to high school seniors. Eligible artists must be high school seniors during the 2008-2009 school year. Early Registration is through June 16, 2009 and final deadline is October 1, 2009 and the postmark deadline to submit audition/portfolio materials is Nov. 3, 2009.  Competition areas are Jazz, Photography, Theater, Music, Dance, Writing, Visual Arts, Film & Video, and Voice.

 

Take Stock in Children Scholarship - Juniors going to Vocational School

Students MUST submit essay to Mrs. Roberts to be considered for this scholarship. Deadline for essay is this Friday, September 12th – Back to  Career Lab.  Once essays are received, they will be reviewed by committee and ONE applicant will be chosen.  Qualifications:  Junior, 2.5 GPA minimum, Free/reduced lunch, no major discipline infractions for this year OR last year, Good attendance for this year and last year, Agrees to be drug, crime and alcohol-FREE throughout graduation, Agrees to meet with Mentor (provided by school) until graduation.  Essay must be handwritten, in black ink covering the following topics:

  • Tell about yourself and your family – about the things you like to do.
  • Note any special circumstances that committee should need to know.
  • Your financial situation - your family’s ability to pay for school.
  • List activities, clubs or other things you are involved in after school or in community.
  • List awards you have received to date.
  • Tell why this scholarship is important to you and how do you expect it to change your life.

 
Youth Heritage Oratorical Scholarship Program  sponsored by the Tampa Organization of Black Affairs.  Are you a great speaker?  Scoring based on Speech quality and speech presentation, and student application - as outlined in the application packet.   Short bio required with application. Open to 9th - 12th Grades!  Deadline for entering the contest is September 30th, 2009.
