The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarships- Apply online from August 1st to October 31 each year. You MUST apply online. High School Seniors only for the FOUR YEAR AWARD.
Gates Millennium Scholarship - Must be minority, GPA 3.3 or above, financial need, high school seniors only. 2010-2011 FAFSA MUST be filed by 2/1/10. Students and parents must complete 2009 tax return in order to file FAFSA. This is a highly competitive process, and students are urged to submit their nomination packets as soon as possible to ensure that their packets are complete and meet all requirements. See website for nomination forms, and other information. DEADLINE for online applications is 1/11/10 - 11:59 pm. See Mrs. Roberts in Career Lab for assistance. This is a very large application - DO NOT WAIT until the last minute. You will need a Nominator AND a Recommender to do the application WITH you! Ask your teachers NOW!
NFAA Arts Awards ARTS 2010 is open to high school seniors. Eligible artists must be high school seniors during the 2009-2010 school year. Early Registration is through April 1, 2009 and final deadline is October 16, 2009 at 5:00 pm and the postmark deadline to submit audition/portfolio materials is Oct. 30, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Competition areas are Jazz, Photography, Theater, Music, Dance, Writing, Visual Arts, Film & Video, and Voice. Fee Waivers available for application fee.

Silver Garland Applications are Being Accepted! The Silver Garland Award in each category is given to the student whose record of service to school and/or community best exemplifies the unselfish use of his or her abilites to help others. Hours not accepted by the School District are eligible for this award. The categories are: Art Athletics Citizenship English/Literature Foreign Language Journalism Mathematics Music Performing Arts Science Vocational/Technical

U. S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is a program open to high school juniors and seniors offering them the opportunity to get a hands-on feel for government. Two students from each state are selected to travel to Washington D.C. for a week long experience that will include major policy addresses by various government officials including members of the cabinet and senators. Students will also receive a $5000 scholarship for college. High school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply - IF they are currently serving in an elected position in the student government. (See specific positions on application). Students must also be Permanent Residents. Deadline for application October 23, 2009.
Florida American Legion Boys State is a "leadership action program" where qualified male high school juniors take part in a practical government course. It is designed to develop a working knowledge of the structure of government and to impress upon the citizen that our government is just what we make it. Current Juniors, 3.2 GPA or higher, who excel in English, History, Government, and who are active in Student Government may apply. See Mrs. Roberts in the Career Lab office for applications. Student MUST be a U.S. Citizen. Deadline back to Mrs. Roberts is October 30th!
Ronald McDonald House Scholarship - Current 10th graders eligible for free/reduced lunch, Minimum 2.8 GPA in math, science, social studies and science, No behavior referrals, good attendance, Ability to pass 10th grade FCAT, complete Algebra II with a C or better and graduate with a standard diploma. Deadline is December 15. Applications should arrive to Mrs. Roberts very soon!
Schering - Plough "Will to Win" Scholarship - $5,000 Award.
2010 Graduate with Asthma, 3.5 GPA or higher, Outstanding achievement in one of five categories with documentation of achievements and awards received in the category. US Citizenship, Transcript,
letters of recommendation, Physician's verification of Asthma. Categories are Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Community Service, Athletics, Science. Deadline TBA
