American Legion Auxiliary - National President's Scholarship - Awarded to children of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during certain eligibility dates for the American Legion.. Senior and Minimum 50 hours of Community Service hours needed. Deadline 3/1/10 to local American Legion President for consideration.
Epilepsy Scholarship - 1-year, $3000 scholarship that honors 16 outstanding students who have done the following: overcome the challenges of epilepsy, been successful in school, done well in activities out of the classroom or in the community, shown the desire to make the most out of college or graduate school. Deadline March 1, 2010.

Navy League Scholarship - 3.0 GPA, direct dependent or direct descendent of an active or former sea service member. Must graduate in June 2010, and enroll in college in Fall 2010 to study science or engineering. Four year scholarships available. Deadline March 1, 2010.

Sammy Awards - Got Milk? The got milk?/Milk Mustache campaign, in partnership with USA Today recognizes 25 high school senior student athletes nationwide with a $7,500 scholarship for achievements in academics, athletics, community service and leadership and is kicking off the 2010 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) awards. 2009-2010 athletes only. The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year - Must have earned Eagle Award and religious emblem. High school student, Florida resident. In a troop chartered to an American Legion Post or the son or grandson of a Legion member or parent eligible to join The American Legion Department of Florida. Deadline March 1st of current school year.
The American Legion General Scholarship - Must be direct descendent or legally adopted child of a member in good standing of the American Legion Department of Florida; or a deceased U.S. Veteran who would have been eligible for membership in the American Legion. Student must be high school Senior and parents must be Florida residents. Applications in the Career Lab. Deadline for submission is March 1, 2010.
American Chemical Society Scholars Program - Minority (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian), SAT/ACT scores, FAFSA, attending college in Fall 2010 to study chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other related chemistry major, two letters of recommendation. 3.0 GPA or higher in sciences and chemistry. Deadline March 1, 2010. Pre-Med or Pre-Pharmacy are NOT eligible for this scholarship.
(FAPSC) Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges Scholarship Program - Awards of Full Tuition, $5,000 and
$1,000 scholarships are offered to students seeking to attend a Florida Career School or College. Seniors must have GPA of 2.0 or higher, submit essay, transcript.

Grandmothers for Peace International Scholarship - Deadline March 1, 2010. Requirements:
- Be a high school senior or in your first year of college.
- Complete the application form.
- Provide information on your school and community activities.
- Include two letters of recommendation.
- Write a brief autobiography of your activities relating to peace and social justice, nuclear disarmament issues, and conflict resolution.
- Describe how you will contribute to a peaceful and just society in the future.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society - Delta Beta Chapter of Lakeland is an organization of women educators. Each year they offer a grant of at
least $1000.00 to a young woman who plans to pursue teaching as a career. DEADLINE March 11th to Career Lab to be sent FREE by Mrs. Roberts. Two letters of recommendation, official
transcripts, interview, and two essays: a) Why I plan to enter the teaching profession and b) What distinguishes me from other applicants for this award.
Polk State College Foundation Scholarships - Application opens on February 1st for graduating Seniors applying to PSC. Last year, the PSC Foundation administered over 600 scholarships. Students only need to submit one application to apply for all the endowed scholarships that are offered each year. Please note that you are only eligible to receive one endowed scholarship. Deadline: March 13. You MUST LOG INTO APPLICATION WITH MRS. ROBERTS to upload your transcripts BEFORE March 13th.
Polk State College Public Service Scholar Scholarship - High School Juniors! Maintain 2.75 GPA, attend training session at PSC, be available on HCHS campus during senior year to handle inquiries about PSC, act as ambassador while attending PSC. Florida Association of Realtors Scholarship Essay Contest - 500 word or less essay required: "How Does a Realtor Professional Benefit the Community?" Prizes at local, state, and national levels. All essays, along with an official Essay Cover Form, must be submitted no later than Friday, March 20, 2010.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society - Lambda Chapter - will provide $1,000 to a Polk County high school African American SENIOR girl who has demonstrated high academic promise and achievement
and who plans to enter the field of education. Required: application, three letters of recommendation, giving info on your academics, character, family background and economic status,
transcript, recent photograph, separate essay. Deadline for completed applications is March 19, 2010 to Mrs. Roberts, or you can mail so that it is received by March 25 by
